Khidhir Hamza, former chief nuclear scientist for Saddam's nuclear weapons development program and another Iraqi defector, estimates Iraq now has “12 tons of uranium and 1.3 tons of low-enriched uranium” and asserts that Saddam will have “three to five nuclear weapons by 2005.” खतरे . इस बात में कोई शक नहीं है कि पिछले चार वर्षों का उपयोग सद्दाम ने जनसंहारक हथियारों के निर्माण के लिये किया है । एक इराकी सिविल इंजीनियर और हाल में अलग हुए अदनान सईद अल हैदेरी ने डिफेंस इंटेलीजेंस एजेंसी को बताया है कि समस्त इराक में आठ स्थानों पर सद्दाम रासायनिक और जैविक हथियार बना रहा है। सद्दाम के परमाणु हथियार विकास कार्यक्रम के पूर्व परमाणु विज्ञानी खिधिर हम्जा के अनुसार तथा एक अन्य अलग हुए इराकी के अनुसार अनुमान है कि “इराक के पास 12 टन यूरेनियम और 1.3 टन कम समृद्ध यूरेनियम है” और उनका जोर देकर कहना है कि 2005 तक सद्दाम के पास “ तीन से पाँच परमाणु हथियार होंगे ”
